You’re My Friend

You’re a wonder, a curiosity, a child.

I’m struck by a paradox: calm and wild.

We can laugh at jokes, however mild.

Yes, what a friend I have in this child.

.

You’re my luck and my look  and my smile

I’ll embrace you when I see you for a while

However long it takes us to compile,

In the end we’ll unite with a smile.

.

There’s no time to look at it now

But a love has grown somehow

A friendship, I’m glad we’d allow

For we will remain friends starting now.
